About Us
Our Mission Statement
At rara Therapy, we use our voice to educate, empower, and advocate for others while helping them discover their own. Our mission is to support individuals in finding the confidence to express themselves, connect with the world around them, and create meaningful change. Through compassionate, evidence-based care, we guide each person toward realising the power of their voice because every voice has the potential to inspire, uplift, and empower. Our services extend to those facing swallowing and feeding difficulties, ensuring they have the tools to navigate these challenges with confidence.

About Me
I'm Laura, owner of rara Therapy, and a very passionate speech pathologist. I completed my Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) at the University of Queensland.
I discovered speech pathology as a career path when I was hoping to merge my love of science with my love of language and creativity. After growing up on a cattle property in South-East Queensland and spending my childhood in a small town with limited access to health services, I also found a passion for rural health care.
rara Therapy was born as the exciting next chapter of my career. The name 'rara' comes from a childhood nickname - a personal and playful touch. The light motif has come from the Egyptian sun god 'ra' symbolising light, warmth, and growth - values I strive to embody as a clinician.
When I switch my clinician-brain off, I can be found supporting the local rugby union team, playing netball, or playing with my dogs.
I am so excited to work with you, thank you for choosing rara Therapy!

Professional Development
I love learning! I am so lucky that as a speech pathologist, I have the opportunity to continuously learn more. I dedicate time to my professional development, whether it is attending a course in another state, joining a zoom call, reaching out to colleagues, or spending time understanding the newest research. This ensures that clients receive the best evidence-based care that I can provide.
There are so many areas within speech pathology and because I consider myself a generalist speech pathologist, I have had the opportunity to explore a variety of courses. See a list of the formal courses I have completed.
